Transformational Leadership Development Program (TLDP)

 
 

Whether you are a state chief administrator, deputy director, agency head, or aspiring leader, the Transformational Leadership Development Program (TLDP) is an innovative and experiential approach that will assist you as you work to enhance state government operations.

This unique leadership series is customized for state government leaders who can benefit from relevant, timely, and in-demand operational skill-building that will apply to their real-life work through in-person events and cohort activities.

You can expect engaging in-person and virtual content introducing participants to applied professional development. Hosted by NASCA and facilitated by Envoy, the workshops drive home themes, create space to work through exercises, and coach each individual through their toughest challenges. Cohort participants will experience thoughtful discussions, collaborate with other state leaders, receive critical tools, and participate in ongoing cohort engagement.

TLDP 2023-2024 Sessions

The series will kick off in December 2023 in Arlington, Virginia, with two full-day, in-person sessions. We’ll continue the learning virtually with two sessions between January and April 2024. The second in-person session will coincide with the NASCA Annual Leadership Conference at Kiawah Island, South Carolina, in May 2024. The series offers flexibility for state leaders - you can choose to participate in one or both in-person sessions.

 

Session One:

Mutual Interest-based Negotiations

  • Negotiation, influence, and partnership building

  • Moving from individual silos to create a way to work together on common, profitable interests

  • Navigating difficult conversations and conflict

Anatomy of a Good Idea

  • Innovation and design thinking for leaders

  • Solving the right problem for optimal outcomes

  • Generating alternative solutions

Session TWO:

Bottom Line Leadership

  • Strategic thinking, decision-making, and leadership skills

  • Leveraging limited resources

  • Developing strategy in an unpredictable world

Influencing Your Team & Organization

  • Driving and leading through organizational change and engaging and energizing employees

  • Building dynamic teams and communicating across boundaries

  • Establishing collective impact

TLDP 2023-2024 Registration

TLDP registration is open to state CAOs, senior leaders, deputies, agency heads and chiefs of staff.
